giro tragedy

If you have been around this blog for a while (and if you have – thank you!) you would know that I have a very deep seeded passion and love of pro cycling (yes I know, it will never cease to be strange!).   And sadly this week a pro cyclist died while riding the Giro d’Italia.  Wouter Weylandt died when his pedal touched a wall during a descent and he fell 20m below.  It is tragic and devastating for his family and for his team mates.  And it was a little tragic and devastating for us, the fans.   BikeSnobNYC talks about it with respect and great consideration here.  It is worth a read.
